You and your child’s vision are imperative pieces to IEP planning. It is important to develop a vision and plan for the whole child. However, the vision we dream of often goes beyond typical special education eligibility. Charting the LifeCourse integrated into the IEP process can support families as they identify what they need to live, love, work, play and pursue their life aspirations in their community. Capturing your vision in the appropriate parts of the IEP can be a powerful tool in changing outcomes.

- Reflecting on past experiences or what has already been tried to inform goals
- Thinking beyond work for my future to include friends, community and beyond
- How a person-centered and family-centered team can change outcomes
