Christine Scarcello earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management and Marketing from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY.  Following an 11 year career working in the home health care industry, Christine changed focus and in 1992, she joined Roswell Park Cancer Institute as an assistant administrator in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, supporting cancer research.   She began her tenure managing both state and federal budgets and quickly assumed fiscal management responsibilities for the clinical trials operation and eventually had oversight of the clinical practice plan as well.  In 2000, Christine assumed the responsibility of the Administrator for the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Roswell Park where she focused on building the division through recruitment efforts as well as oversight for both the administrative and clinical trials staff.

In 2003, Christine was recruited to The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) where she was named the Assistant Director of Administration with responsibilities for purchasing, human resources, grants administration, finance and marketing and planning.  In 2007, she assumed the role of Associate Director for Administration and was given additional responsibilities such as oversight for facilities; space, the clinical trials office, information technology as well as running of the space committee and oversight for 15 shared resource facilities throughout the Cancer Center.

In December, 2003, she enrolled in the Executive Masters of Business Administration program at The Ohio State University, Max M. Fisher College of Business.  She earned her MBA degree in June, 2005.

In 2010, Christine was named the Director of Research Operations for the Cancer Program and in addition to running research operations she also assumed administrative responsibility for the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Center Support Grant.   During that year, the Cancer Center Support Grant received the highest merit descriptor (“exceptional”) from the National Cancer Institute following peer review.

Ms. Scarcello sits on several committees throughout the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center, James Cancer Hospital, The Wexner Medical Center (WMC) and The Ohio State University.  She is a member of the OSUCCC-James Executive Cabinet, a voting member of both the OSUCCC-James and WMC Space Committees as well as the College Research Officer’s Cabinet.  She has oversight responsibilities of approximately 90 staff members.

Ms. Scarcello has three children and one grandchild and resides in Columbus, Ohio.
