DESCRIPTION:Monday, June 1, 2026 – Friday, June 5, 2026 \nColumbus Academy  \n4300 Cherry Bottom Rd | Gahanna, OH 43230 \nApplications for volunteers and riders will open on Monday, March 2!  \nBiking is more than just exercise and transportation: it’s a social activity, rite of passage, and first taste of independence. Transforming biking into an inclusive activity is the mission of iCan Bike, a national organization that conducts bike camps for people with special needs. This unique approach has enabled thousands with a variety of disabilities to become independent bicycle riders. \nRequirements for Participation (Rider must meet all criteria below):\n\n\nMinimum age – 10 years old at time of camp\nHave a disability\nAble to walk without an assistive device\nWilling and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet (Not Provided)\nAble to sidestep to both sides\nAble to attend camp all 5 days\nMaximum weight of 220 lbs.\nMinimum inseam of 20” (measure from floor while rider is wearing sneakers)\nEvery rider is required to have their own personal bicycle by Wednesday of Camp\nAccompanied by parent/guardian willing and able to intervene or assist staff as requested in addressing any prolonged disruptive or aggressive behavior\n\nThe fee for the iCanBike camp is $225, payable upon acceptance into the camp.\nNOTE: Dropping off Riders at the program is not permitted. A parent, legal guardian or other adult authorized to take responsibility for the Rider (e.g., another parent) must remain on site for the duration of the 75-minute program.\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n	Rider Application\n    \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n\n\nVolunteers Needed! \nDSACO relies on the support of amazing volunteers to make iCan Bike Camp a success! Volunteers will be paired with a camper for the week and act as his/her “spotter” to provide encouragement, support, and run alongside the camper as they learn to ride independently!\n\n\n\nVolunteers must be at least 14 years old by the start of camp (June 1, 2026).\nWe encourage volunteers to commit to attending all 5 days of camp for at least one session. Riders bond with their assigned volunteer(s) and they rely on the same person to be there supporting them each day of camp.\nVolunteers should be able to provide physical and motivational support to their assigned camper.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n	Volunteer Application\n    \n\n\n	\n\n\nQuestions?
