Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are offered by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Below is a list of current available scholarships with eligibility requirements and application deadlines. DSACO Family Scholarship Program
Available to individuals in the Central Ohio area with Down syndrome or their family members who are accepted to an accredited technical school, university or collage in pursuit of an associate, bachelor, or master’s degree in areas of study that have an impact on the lives of person with Down syndrome. Recreational Scholarships
Recreational scholarships are available to individuals with Down syndrome who wish to take part in recreational activities that include, but are not limited to, organized sports, summer camps, exercise classes, swim lessons, gymnastics and dance. Prescribed therapies such as physical therapy sessions are not eligible. (download guidelines and application)
Nick Crusse Memorial Swim Fund
The family of Nicholas Crusse provides the funding for this scholarship. Nicholas was a teen whose life was taken in an accident in the Columbus area. His family directed memorial donations go to DSACO in Nick’s memory and, at the family’s request, donations are used to provide swim lessons to the children served by the Assocaition. Conference Scholarships
The Conference Scholarship Fund of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio was designed to assist members who wish to attend national conferences pertaining to subject matters that are informative and useful to them and/or their family.
Funding is limited to $250 per person and $500 per family each year. Interested persons must complete a scholarship application form and return it no less than three (3) weeks prior to the conference date. Applicants will be required to share information concerning their experience via an agreed-upon format (i.e., contributing newsletter article, making formal presentation, leading age appropriate discussion group, etc.) (download guidelines and application)
